PIN code vs the map

A PIN code is India Post’s postal identifier. The map is a geographic view. They overlap but they are not the same object. Listings use PIN code for search; scores use coordinates.

PIN code

A PIN code is assigned by India Post for mail. People in India search Properties, Services & Businesses, Local Products and Local Jobs by PIN code, city or locality. Confirm a PIN on India Post’s own enquiry if a post looks wrong. MyStreetBiz does not invent PIN boundaries.

The map

The public map is a coordinate view: you click or search a place, then see layers and scores for that point. Address lookup uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim (geocoding, not the map tiles). Nominatim can rate-limit or refuse heavy use. That lookup is not a cadastral survey.

A listing may hide an exact private address while still showing a locality or PIN code.
A map click scores that latitude/longitude. It does not prove the listing’s door is at that pixel.
A PIN code is for mail. A map pin is a coordinate. They can overlap without being the same place.

Do not treat a PIN code as a Location Pillars score, or a map pin as legal title.
